Part of Summer 2015
Join Sabrina Ratté for a special artist talk and workshop. Over the course of the three-hour event Ratté will present a history of computer and video art, supplemented by rare clips of landmark works and personal inspirations. In exploring and contextualizing these works, she will situate her own practice in relation to this bold tradition of media art experimentation.
Ratté will also provide an introduction to the digital and analog video techniques she utilizes in her artwork, along with detailed demonstrations. Expanding upon her work in performance, installation, and video, Ratté will discuss issues of production and distribution of independent video art, including her work with independent video distributors Undervolt & Co. and recent commissions.
She will also participate in a discussion about the different facets of her work, navigating her relationship with the art world, the film world, and the music world. For the final segment Ratté will be joined by Roger Tellier-Craig to discuss their work as Le Révélateur.
Limited seating, arrive early, buy a ticket at Soundscapes or confirm booking by contacting pdome@bell.net.
