Part of Fall 2004
Guest-curated by Brian L. Frye (In Person)
A personal selection from the 250+ programs presented between 1998 and 2004 at the Robert Beck Memorial Cinema in New York City, originally presented on the eve of its first incarnation’s demise. Brian Frye founded the RBMC at the Collective Unconscious on Ludlow Street. He was joined shortly afterward by Bradley Eros. Together they showed avant-garde, experimental, and otherwise interesting films and videos every week for more than five years. But like the paupers and kings evicted from the cemeteries of Paris know well, when you don’t own the dirt you inhabit, you can’t count on filling it forever. So Bobby Beck is disinterred, and wandering the streets of the Big Apple, looking for a new bed. In the meantime, he’s got a few stories to relate to you.
