Part of Fall 1989
Two faces of George Kuchar are presented in this solo screening. The first reveals his infamous 60s underground classics (including Hold Me While I’m Naked and Eclipse of the Sun Virgin), lovingly remembered for their “Hollywood viewed through the bottom of a Coke bottle” sense of narrative sleaze and brazen use of camp sensibilities. The second aspect presents the Toronto premiere of Kuchar’s recent and much acclaimed video-8mm work. Our sampling will include Weather Diary 3, shot on location in Oklahoma, where George observes, in his own bizarre and grand style, tornadoes and local culture.
