Zach Stiglicz is a Chicago-based filmmaker who has exhibited extensively across the USA, but has never exhibited in Canada. This solo show will present a wide selection of his films produced over the past four years. Through a series of short films Stiglicz has constructed a richly textured and visually evocative cinematic expression, as he explores the nature of eroticism, myth and desire at the margins of masculine subjectivity.
‘Stiglicz literally shreds images of dreams, desires, memories, symbols and myths into a multi-layered, molten, fin-de-siecle statement.’ (MOMA)

This solo show will present a wide selection of his films including Filial Seduction, An Existential Trilogy and the recently completed Nothing Nobody Nowhere.

‘In such filmmaking we seem to be in the middle of a dream, a memory, a trance, an alien ritual, or a wrestling with madness. Actually, we are present at still another effort by experimental film to bring consciousness into an appreciation and expression of its own qualities.’ (Zack Stiglicz)
